Meetings have taken place this week and currently, the final parts of the negotiations between Chelsea and Pochettino are coming to a close.

The current issue is only about Pochettino’s role and position in management and decision-making on key issues. The Argentine coach wants to receive maximum support from the club and have more power over personnel and transfers.

Pochettino and owner Boehly met last summer to discuss replacing Thomas Tuchel. Pochettino didn’t think it was the ideal time, but now he sees the opportunity.

The Telegraph revealed that Chelsea players are all very excited about the prospect of Pochettino becoming the new coach. They highly value Pochettino’s coaching talent, along with his strength in motivating players.

Pochettino also has experience working with a star-studded team thanks to his time in charge at PSG. That makes him suitable for Chelsea’s current lineup.

However, Pochettino’s arrival will not be good news for all Chelsea players. The 51-year-old coach is said to have the plan to sell a series of players to reduce the current cumbersome squad of 31 players of The Blues.

The Argentine strategist also made an impression during the recruitment process led by co-directors of sport, Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart.
