Real Madrid 2-0 Chelsea – Champions League
Chelsea conceded two goals and a red card to Ben Chilwell in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals against Real Madrid.

Despite not being in good form lately, Chelsea started off well against Real Madrid thanks to the agility of N’Golo Kante and Enzo Fernandez. In the third minute, Joao Felix had a chance to score but he wasn’t quick enough to take advantage of it.
However, the away team couldn’t keep up their good start and Real Madrid regained control of the game after only 21 minutes, with a goal from Karim Benzema. Dani Carvajal provided a great pass to Vinicius Jr who took a shot, before the French striker scored on the rebound.
The continuous pressure from the home team’s attack caused Chelsea to make mistakes. In the 59th minute, Rodrygo had a chance to face the away team’s goalkeeper one-on-one. Ben Chilwell had to commit a foul by pulling him down just outside the penalty area. The defender with the number 21 received a red card, leaving Chelsea playing with ten men.
In the 74th minute, Marco Asensio shone with a very quick one-touch shot from outside the penalty area, increasing the lead to 2-0 for the Spanish royal team. In the final 15 minutes of the match, Chelsea played tight and resilient, not giving Real Madrid any chances to extend the gap.
Losing 0-2 is a big disadvantage for Chelsea, but they still have a chance. They need to win by a three-goal difference in the second leg at Stamford Bridge on April 19 to overturn the situation.
